To create this photo essay, I photographed students and staff in the hallways of Los Altos High School and asked them to fill in the sentence frame, “I used to believe ____, now I know ____.” The goal of the project is to give people a platform to be vulnerable about a worldview of theirs they might not feel comfortable sharing otherwise. Participants wrote their responses on a piece of paper and they were then overlayed on top of their portraits in Photoshop.
