The Youth Engaged in Advancing Health (YEAH) Club will be hosting a blood drive for the Stanford Blood Center next Friday, November 16. Only students 16 and over can donate, and students who are 16 need a parental consent form while students over 17 do not need the form.
The YEAH Club will be staffing and coordinating the volunteers. Students who donate blood and are also in NHS will receive one group hour, while students who volunteer will receive more.
“For every person that donates, [we] can save four or more lives,” treasurer junior Christian Beck said. “The number of people that die from a lack of blood transfusions is astronomical. Please donate. This is a very special opportunity.”
Students who participate will receive a free movie ticket, compliments of LifeScan of Milpitas. The blood drive will be hosted in the small gym, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
