The term “media” evokes many different images and thoughts, ranging from coverage of presidential debates between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney to Kanye West’s stunt at the 2009 Video Music Awards. Media is our way to express what goes on in the world, and in the past century particularly, it has played a significant role in shaping the political, economic and social structures of the global community.
Through both beneficial and detrimental effects of the media, the constantly growing television, movie, web and music industries continue to redefine the way individuals view and interact with the world.
