Volleyball Defeats Sequoia 3-0

The volleyball team rebounded from a close loss of 3-2 to St. Ignatius on Thursday, September 15 by winning three games and losing none against Sequoia on Friday, September 16.

“We kept fighting and didn’t give up,” Captain senior Heather Sangster said. “It would’ve been easy to lose a set against them because … we knew that Sequoia wouldn’t be as good … but we decided we needed to play really hard.”

St. Ignatius, whose players are able to get balls up that looked like definite kills, was ranked seventh in CCS last year and has beaten many top ranked teams.

Sequoia, however, is “definitely not at that level,” senior Meghan Cyron said. “We were a little bit lower in energy against Sequoia than we were against St. Ignatius because St. Ignatius was such a tough match and drained us both emotionally and energy-wise. But we did really well coming back from such a tough loss.”

The next home game is this Tuesday, September 20 against Monta Vista at 6:45 p.m.
