Teams Ram and Oh My Bosh to Continue to Three-On-Three Finals

The three-on-three basketball tournament continued yesterday, February 1. Games have become longer and more intense since the semifinals.

The match-ups included Team Dendroaspis Polylepis versus Oh My Bosh and RAM versus The Mob. Team RAM beat The Mob with great drives and easy baskets by team leader freshman Daniel Rosenbaum. Thanks to key defensive plays, the members secured a win and spot in Friday’s final.

The game of the day was Team Dendroaspis battling against Oh My Bosh. With hardly any whistles to stop the action, both teams played with immense intensity and the game played out like an old fashioned three-on-three street basketball match-up.

The game was initially controlled by Dendroaspis with plenty of drives by senior Bemi Onipedi and good outside jumpers by senior Siaosi Schneider. But as team Dendroaspis got a little comfortable with their small lead, team Oh My Bosh’s junior Anthony Otey and senior Daniel Eaton hit clutch baskets, forcing the game to overtime, when they managed to hit one basket to win their match and a trip to the finals.

The post-game attraction was the three-point shooting contest with male and female competitors. Senior Thao Tran hit eight baskets and won the girls competition, while freshman and surprise of the year Daniel hit 13 baskets to easily win the boy’s competition.

The finals will take place on Friday at lunch, where RAM will face off against Oh My Bosh for the 2012 three-on-three basketball title.
