Swimming and Diving Fall to Los Gatos

Both the boys and girls swimming teams lost to Los Gatos High School today, March 29. The meet proved difficult for the teams as both were defeated by over 40 points.

“After having a bad week last week we lost focus,” sophomore Ya’el Weiner said. “We were also pretty tired this week, which resulted in low performance during our meet.”

Another factor that contributed to the Eagles’ defeat was Los Gatos’ experience in the upper league, which the Eagles joined just this year.

In the end, Los Gatos dominated a majority of the meets’ events, including the relays. This was the final home meet of the season for the Eagles.

One day prior to the swim meet, March 28, the diving team faced a tough matchup against Los Gatos as well. However, junior Austin Campitelli said that the team competed admirably nonetheless.

“The judging was hard, but I think we ended up doing well in the end,” Austin said.

Despite the difficulty of Los Gatos’ competition, the Eagles are looking to their next away meet against Palo Alto High School. Diving will compete on Monday, April 15 and swimming will compete on Tuesday. April 16.
