Students Face Off in First Round of Kickball

The first round of the fourth annual Kickball Tournament kicked off yesterday, April 28 at lunch. Four separate games took place on the field at the back of the school.

The Banana Slugs played the Moulstaches and won 5-0. Banana Slug outfielder senior Martin Aycott described the game as “an easy win” and he is “ready to move on to the next [game]” on Monday, May 2 at lunch.

The Banana Slugs consisted of seniors Abel Kinard, Chloe Langston, Colin Mulcahy, Derek Breaux, Emelien Fritsch, KK Sandlin, Lauren Johnson and juniors Audrey Cashen, Bemi Onipede and Nolan O’such.

The members of the Moulstaches included seniors Alex Kent, Jenna Louie, Justin Koehler, Lizzy Lukrich, Mark Levin, Max Wiederholt, Michael Drake, sophomores Austin Conlon, Mark Schreiber and English teacher Michael Moul.

Lauren regards the tournament as a success and looks forward to the upcoming games.

“I have played kickball every year and it has always been a good experience,” Lauren said. “The refs are always on top of their games and there is always great music that makes each game fun and enjoyable.”
