A group of students performed at the grand opening of the Nature Gallery in downtown Los Altos on Friday, February 10.
Quartet members include seniors Anny Dow, Stephen Lai, Catherine Li and Julie Zhu. The group performs at local venues for various occasions. For instance the quartet also performed at a fundraiser for the school’s Instrumental Music Department on Sunday, February 12.
The group’s repertoire included classical pieces, such as Tchaikovsky’s “Serenade for Strings,” as well as more well-known songs, including “Only Hope” by Mandy Moore.
“Playing with a quartet really motivated me to try harder because you don’t want to disappoint your friends, especially when you have a bond with them, “ Julie said. “You want to be someone they can be proud of and depend on. Overall, it was a good experience.”
