Rachael Wolber – Field Hockey
Senior Rachel Wolber joined the varsity field hockey team this year after playing on junior varsity previously. She has been working to become a more aggressive player and a strong leader for her team.

“I’m the [oldest] goalie on the field hockey, so I really had to step it up and become a leader for all the goalies,” Rachel said.

According to Coach Gerri Baldwin, Rachael saved at least 15 goals in their game against Saratoga. Her teammates also voted her Player of the Week.

“She’s one of those people who cares about her teammates,” Baldwin said.

Overall, Rachael has had a very successful season this year.

“I’ve had a lot of really good games with some close saves, and I think I’ve really been a part of the team this season,” Rachael said.

Scott Abramo
Sophomore Scott Abramo is a receiver and defensive back for the school’s varsity football team. As a starting sophomore on varsity, Scott has worked extremely hard throughout the season to strengthen his game.

“I just give it 100 percent out there,” Scott said. “And I listen to what people have to say to me to make me a better athlete.”

According to his coach, he is always striving to gain a better understanding of his teammates.

“He takes the game very seriously,” varsity head coach Jeff Kalb said. “He’s probably harder on himself than even the coaches … He’s coachable … he’s durable … the toughest kid on the team.”

After playing on the varsity team this year, Scott feels he has improved as a player through competing against older athletes.
