Last Wednesday, May 21, the ABC7 Top Scholars program filmed senior Katherine Liu during her classes. This program awards outstanding college bound students with $1000, which can be used in any way the scholars wish.
Each school submits four students to a panel of judges that decide whether or not to select the student for ABC7 Top Scholars list. With hundreds of schools in the bay area, Katherine was chosen to be one of the scholars.
“I’m really honored to have received this award,” Katherine said. “I know many, many other students who are incredible, and they’re just as deserving, if not more.”
Last year, LAHS alumni Jerry Liu ‘13 also won the award.
Katherine plans to spend the $1000 on her college education.
“The money is definitely going toward financing my college education,” Katherine said.
