This year, Los Altos partnered with a website called Total Registration, which allows AP students to sign up for their tests online.

The school believes that online registration, rather than through the Finance Office, will make AP registration easier by minimizing paperwork and transitioning to online forms. Total Registration eliminates the need for bubble sheets during pre-admission sessions because students’ answers to online forms will be printed onto testing booklets automatically.

“The fact that they are able to take the information you fill out when you register and then use that to fill in one of the answer sheets played a key factor in our decision to give them a try,” Assessment Coordinator Jeanine Seagraves said.

Unlike previous years, students will not be allowed to submit late applications. All applications must be sent in by the February 28 deadline. Students can now pay with credit card on the Total Registration website or mail in a check to the company headquarters.

Before the change, Los Altos was one of the few schools in the area that had not been using Total Registration. In October last year, Total Registration sent an informational email to Los Altos in order to present their process as an option for the school. The school responded by implementing it for this year.

“There was no reason we were not using [Total Registration, so] we decided to explore it this year to see what they had to offer,” Seagraves said.

Registration opens on Monday, January 23 at 6:00 AM, and the AP exams cost $94.
