The Counseling Department is holding a recommendation letter workshop tomorrow, Tuesday, August 31.

The workshop will take place in the Eagle Theatre during tutorial, from 10:55 to 11:30 a.m. All seniors considering applying to private colleges are expected to attend.

Counselors Judy Prothro and Perla Pasallo will be speaking to the Senior Class. The main purpose of the recommendation letter workshop is to provide information on the whole recommendation letter process, counselor Maryann Smetzer said.

“It’s pretty simple,” Smetzer said. “We’re going to be telling students how to get their recommendation letters organized.”

According to Smetzer, the workshop will be similar to the workshop held last spring regarding recommendation letters.

All the information covered will be posted on the school website after the workshop.

Some seniors feel that the information could be useful.

“I think it’s a good idea,” senior Amanda Li said. “I just wish they had [the workshop] at another time. Maybe they could send out [the information] by email or something.”
