Performing Arts Department Announces New Musical

Teachers from the performing arts department announced a new musical, “Anything Goes”, after school today, October 10, in the choir room. Choral department director Mark Shaull, dance teacher April Oliver, drama director Nancy Moran and instrumental director Ted Ferrucci introduced the show and audition times to the students assembled in the room. The musical will be performed from Thursday, February 7 to Saturday, February 9.

The performing arts department puts on a new musical every two years. Choir students, Main Street performers, Broken Box drama students, dance students and the music department will be collaborating on this new project. Auditions for roles in the musical, including singing, dancing and musical roles, will be available for everyone with performing arts experience and who is currently involved in a performing arts activity or class. People who are not currently enrolled in a class or in an activity taught by one of the performing arts teachers can also audition, but should contact one of the performing arts teachers for further information and deadlines.

“The show has great music, great dances, and great songs,” Shaull said. “That’s why we chose [Anything Goes].”
