The San Francisco 49ers and Symetra Financial recognized history teacher Robert Freeman today, November 15, as one of the Bay Area’s outstanding teachers of the year. This is the first time Freeman has been nominated and has been presented with this award, one that history teacher Pete Bjorklund won last year. Freeman received a check for $1,000 on behalf of the school in a ceremony during brunch.
The San Francisco 49ers recently partnered with Symetra Financial and announced a multi-year partnership. The two organizations initiated a program to recognize teachers with outstanding dedication, leadership and instructional skills in the classroom.
“We honor 16 teachers throughout the year that have been nominated and this is our second year at Los Altos,” 49ers corporate sales executive Tyson Lamp said. “We get student, parent and teacher nominations. We get a number of nominations that we go through and decide who will be picked.”
This year junior John Naumovski nominated Freeman as one of the exceptional teachers at the Los Altos campus. Freeman won the award as a result of John’s nomination.
