New Student-Conduct Liaison Monitors Campus Security

The school has recently hired a new student-conduct liaison, Pete Hernandez, to replace former student-conduct liaison Genaro Quintana. Hernandez was hired at the end of August, and began working on Tuesday, September 6.

“I really like the job,” Hernandez said. “It’s a really great school. The students are good, the staff is very, very nice and welcoming, and I like the setting.”

Prior to accepting this job, Hernandez has spent the past four years working in various school settings in the Bay Area. Besides LAHS, Hernandez has also worked at William C. Overfelt High School, Ocala Middle School and Mountain View High School (MVHS).

“I’ve worked at MVHS briefly in 2007, and always said that if I had an opportunity to come back to the district, I was going to,” Hernandez said. “Four years later, I got the opportunity and I jumped on it.”

As the student-conduct liaison, Hernandez monitors the safety of the students and the security of the campus. He is responsible for campus supervision and oversees the conduct of the students.

“I’ve been working with kids in the school setting pretty much since I’ve been done with school,” Hernandez said. “It’s something I like and something I really enjoy.”
