The school’s Model United Nations (MUN) chapter attended the 61st annual MUN conference in Berkeley from March 8 to 10. The students joined more than 1,500 other high school students to debate a wide range of international topics.

The conference hosted over 21 committees, each aimed at spreading awareness about a different international issue through diplomatic debate and public speaking. Committees ranged from 80 to 340 people and consisted of high school students from countries around the world.

Prior to the conference, students submitted delegate position papers about their specific committees in order to qualify for committee awards.

“It’s a valuable experience because it teaches you how to cooperate at a very high functioning level, something you need no matter whatever profession you get into,” sophomore Ben Gardner-Gill said.
