‘Los Altos Live’ Showcases Local Talent
The school’s Eagle Theater hosted a local talent show Saturday night, March 7. With 21 acts in about two hours, participants ranged from a “Petite” dance team to an 81-year-old tap dancer who led the finale in a rousing Yankee Doodle. Singing groups and soloists were spread between, drawing in talent from nearby Saint Francis and Mitty High Schools, along with older Los Altos residents.
The show was directed by Abby Althoff and led by Assistant Principal Cristy Dawson. Tickets were $10 for students and $20 for adults, and funds benefitted the diversity retreat “Camp Everytown.”
The talent show’s audience consisted mostly of adults, but the coordinators did a good job of advertising the event to elementary, junior high, and high schools so as to keep it balanced. Participants in the show were mostly female, with only 7 of the 21 performing groups containing male members.
