Lockers graffitied three days before football game

Student lockers around the school were tagged with graffiti late Tuesday night, November 10. According to Assistant Principal Ralph Cave, the vandalism occurred sometime after the school custodians left at 11 p.m.

The graffiti contained comments ridiculing the school and members of the football team. Some students believe that the graffiti was done to taunt the school before the upcoming football game against MVHS.

“I definitely think that [the graffiti] had to do with the game,” football player senior Doug Tomlinson said.

The police station notified Maintenance Facilitator Mike Woodworth of the graffiti on Wednesday, November 11 at 8 a.m. Woodworth spent about six hours that day cleaning the lockers.

The graffiti was written using dry erase markers.

“It looked like they ran out of [ink] in their pens, and that’s the only reason they stopped,” Assistant Principal Cristy Dawson said.

None of the vandals have yet been caught. The school is currently offering a reward for any student who wishes to give names.
