This year’s homecoming assembly took place during a double block period today, September 20 in the large gym. Second period classes were divided into two sections and students attended the assembly either before or after brunch.

ASB President senior Chip Cantrell introduced this year’s homecoming, which is centered around the theme of Disney. Chip announced the events that are to take place during the rest of this “magical week.”

Homecoming skits began with seniors Audrey Cashen, Bemi Onipede, Laura Delamare and David Schuman. The students chose to act as Disney characters that ranged from Dory from “Finding Nemo” to Simba from “The Lion King.” The skits were filled with dance-offs.

Between skits, the dance team gave a performance. The cheer team also performed to a remix of Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep.”

Seniors Flor Paz Cuevas, Simon Rosenbaum, Annalise Tahran and Hallef Rodrigues ended the homecoming skits with LMFAO’s “Party Rock Anthem” and some shuffling.

“The assembly was good,” freshman Pat McColl said. “I liked it and it was filled with lots of energy.”
