Gymnastics Places 4th in CCS

The gymnastics team competed in the CCS meet yesterday, May 15. The team took fourth place out of over 20 competing teams, falling short behind St. Francis High School, Lowell High School and Tracy High School.

“CCS was okay,” Captain senior Kelli Yamaguma said. “It wasn’t our best meet overall, but we got fourth as a team and got recognized.”

Each member also received a certificate for the team’s outstanding academic performance, as it had the highest cumulative team grade point average out of all competing teams.

With the CCS meet concluding the team’s season, the members are looking forward to the next season. The team remains optimistic and hopes to continue to improve their game as well as bonding with each other.

“My highlight for the season was becoming close to all the girls on my team,” junior Emma Orner said. “We are literally one big family and I have had so much fun with them. We enjoy competing together since it really makes us closer.”
