Green Team To Host Upcoming Earth Week

Green Team will be hosting Earth Week from Monday, April 18 to Friday, April 22 at our school. Although Earth Day is on Friday, April 22, the event will span an entire week in an attempt to increase student awareness about current issues involving the environment.

In the past two years, Green Team has focused on alternative energy during Earth Week. On Monday and Tuesday, there will be several environmental-friendly cars in the quad during lunch for students to see.

Home,” a movie about how humans have affected Earth, will run in the Eagle Theatre from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, April 21. Viewing is free.

There will also be the official ribbon-cutting ceremony for the solar panels on Earth Day.

“We hope that having [the displays] there will educate those who want to be educated, and that they can get something out of it,” Green Team Co-president senior Cynthia Wang said.

Green Team encourages students to bike to school during Earth Week. Students who bike will receive a ticket for a snack, which they can later collect in the quad. There will be recycling promotion during the week as well.
