Girls Water Polo Falls to Leland
Girls water polo team played its second league game of the season against Leland High School on Saturday, September 21. Despite great teamwork and effort, the team lost 6-15.
The team had a rough start, and the Lady Eagles went down 3-0 quickly. However, through well-coordinated passes, Los Altos scored its first goal.
A second goal into the top of the goal brought the score to 2-4. Through another series of good passes, the team managed to score another goal, and the score was 3-5 before the quarter ended.
The second quarter of the game was characterized by strong defense as junior Romy Aboudarham skillfully blocked several high-powered shots. The team scored one goal this quarter, bringing the score 4-8.
The goalie continued to perform very well, but the quarter ended with the score of 4-13, with Leland consistently blocking the ball during passes.
In a tense final quarter, Los Altos managed to score two more points through excellent goalie blocks and teamwork, ending the game with a score of 6-15.
