The girls varsity soccer team beat Gunn 2-0 on Friday, February 8. The girls played strong and kept possession of the ball for the majority of the fast-paced game.
To score the first goal, freshman Stephanie Kouvelas crossed the ball to junior Sophia Hyver, who headed the ball into the goal. The Eagles came back again to score a second time when sophomore Allie Crum beat three defenders and passed the ball in front of the goal, where freshman Tess Wendelken kicked it into the goal.
The team also celebrated seniors Katya [Pchenitchnikova], Chloe Siegel, Audrey Mays, Amanda Spielman and Taylor Peterson, for their commitment to the team. Katya, Amanda and Audrey have played all four years on the varsity team.
The team’s next game is against Los Gatos High School this Wednesday, February 13. The game is away.
