Girls Basketball Thanks Seniors With a Win
It was Senior Night for the girls basketball team as the players took on Cupertino High School and won 53-17.
While the team previously faced slow starts in their games, this time it pulled ahead from the start. LAHS ended the first quarter with 12 points to Cupertino’s 3, and by halftime, led 28 -3. The Eagles continued to go all four quarters without relenting their attack.
The girls’ press defence was immaculate, and although Cupertino performed better in the second half by scoring 14 more points, they were no match for the Eagles.
Junior Ideen Seyed led the team with 14 points, followed by senior Lauren Amorese with 11. All of the seniors contributed to the scoring.
“We were really all there as a team,” sophomore Meghan McDermot said. “This is the kind of performance we want to repeat.”
The team qualified for CCS but seeding, time and dates of further games are currently unknown.
