Football Loses to Lynbrook 25-54, Ends Season Scoring Record Number of Points in Game

The varsity football team lost to Lynbrook High School 54-25 on Friday, November 9. The game ended with the Eagles scoring a record number of points for this season.

“We just want to end the season on a good note [to] give the juniors and upcoming sophomores something to build on for next year,” senior Paul Hernandez said. “We are going to have fun for the last time on the field together.”

Although the team was not able to secure the win, they worked together and succeeded in ending the season on a positive note. The game began with a rough start, and the first quarter ended with Lynbrook leading 20-0.

In the second quarter, Los Altos stepped it up and were able to progress down the field and score two touchdowns. Senior Mac Kliman scored the team’s first touchdown of the game on a pass by junior Lambie Lanman.

That first touchdown pumped up the crowd visibly, and parents in the stands began to cheer loudly. Following the touchdown, Lambie through the ball approximately thirty yards to junior Victor Ruiz. The momentum continued with yet another pass by Lambie to senior Michael Andris, which allowed the team to score its second touchdown of the quarter. After fastening the two point conversion, the the Eagles ended the quarter with the 14 points, setting the score to 27-14.

In the third quarter Michael was able to score three points for the team a field goal, pushing the team’s score to seventeen points. Unfortunately, Lynbrook was able to continue scoring points as well, and at the end of the quarter, the score was 17-40.

In the last quarter of the last game, the team scored one more touchdown, ending the score at 54-25.

“Tonight’s game was probably one of our best played games this year. We all worked hard, ran our routes and had a lot less penalties,” junior Victor Ruiz said. “We were also able to move the ball a lot more because we were just executing very well. Overall I’m very proud of my team for sticking in there and taking all those hits and playing as hard as we could.”

    Today, I went to the beachfront with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year
    old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed the shell to her
    ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.

    She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is entirely off topic but I had to tell someone!
