The Eagle Theatre will host a showing of the film “First Generation” on August 14 at 7:00 pm, followed by a question and answer session. “First Generation,” narrated by Golden Globe nominee Blair Underwood, explores the lives of four high school students who are determined to rise above poverty and aid their communities by going to college.
The documentary is approximately 95 minutes long and illustrates the difficulties low-income students face when seeking a college education. Furthermore, the documentary explores how the success or failure of these students will be consequential to the future of America.
Community members, faculty, students and parents are urged to attend.
