Field Hockey Ties With Gilroy 1-1
Field hockey tied in an intense game yesterday, September 21 against Gilroy. LAHS was able to come back from a goal down to keep the score even at 1-1.
Both teams played a fierce first half but the score stayed level at 0-0. The Mustangs scored early in the second half to take the lead over the Eagles.
The Eagles rallied back with a clutch goal by junior Taylor Peterson, who snuck it behind the goalie after a pass between two defenders for the tying goal.
“It was an intense game,” Taylor said. “Gilroy is one of the best teams around. We definitely have improved and are on our way to making CCS.”
The tie puts field hockey in a solid position for the season with one win and two ties.
Field hockey’s next home game will be on Friday, September 30 at 3:30 p.m. against Presentation High.
