Field Hockey Loses 0-5 to Archbishop Mitty

The varsity girls field hockey team played Archbishop Mitty High School today, October 4, and lost 0-5. The teams played on the back field by the tennis courts because the football game occupied the turf field.

“[Mitty is] one of the top teams in the league, but we played super well,” junior Emma Orner said.

Mitty is undefeated so far this season, so Los Altos anticipated that the game would be a challenge.

“We did amazing pressuring and channelling of the ball,” Emma said.

With many things done well against such a powerhouse team, Los Altos sees the loss as growing experience. Los Altos kept up strong offensive pressure against Mitty, and in league matchups, that skill will help the Eagles take away big victories. However, there are certainly aspects of the game that the Eagles can still improve on.

“We just need to work more on attacking and passing the ball up the sidelines,” Emma said.

The Eagles will learn from this game and hope to come away with a win in their next match against Leland High School on Tuesday, October 9.
