This weekend, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) competed in the annual State Leadership Conference, a three day long business competition in Irvine, California.

FBLA members participating in states qualified by placing in the top five in their chosen categories from Bay Sectionals earlier in March. Some categories include entrepreneurship, website design and banking and financial systems.

Members who place in the top two of any of group event and top three of any individual event will move on to Nationals later in the year.

“We’ve studied every weekend, worked on public speaking, studied for case studies,” freshman Michelle Deng said. “It’s great working with other people. You work really hard for a common goal.
