FBLA Competes in State Leadership Conference, Qualifies for Nationals

Members of the Future Business Leader of America (FBLA) team competed in the State Leadership Conference in Santa Clara on Saturday, April 20. Many members placed in team and project events.

“I think the State Leadership Conference gave our members a look at how big FBLA really is,” junior Katherine Liu said. “Our chapter definitely has a lot of potential.”

The marketing team, consisting of juniors Katherine Liu, Sarah Jacobs and Elaine Zhao, placed second at the competition, qualifying for the National Leadership Conference, which will take place in Anaheim, California this summer. This is the third year in a row that FBLA will be sending members to the National Leadership Conference.

Many of the team’s chapter projects, year-long business projects which involve working with an aspect of the American business world, also placed. These projects were Partnership with a Business and the American Enterprise which placed third and fifth, respectively.

Currently, club members are both planning events such as business tours and socials, and preparing members for FBLA States the following year.
