English Department Head Keren Robertson went to Scotland over the break and came back newly engaged.

“[My fiancé and I] talked about [getting married], but I didn’t know when and how [he would propose],” Robertson said. “[The proposal was] very fun and very romantic.”

Robertson’s fiancé proposed to her during a ferry ride to an island on the west coast of Scotland. The two started dating eight months ago, but their families have known each other for generations. Her fiancé is originally from Scotland, and he has 21 year old twins and a 15 year old daughter as well. When her fiancé moves from Scotland to the United States after their marriage, his 15 year old daughter will most likely be a junior at this school.

“[My family has] been pretty thrilled,” Robertson said. “They’re pretty happy about [the proposal], they love him. It’s good fun.”

Robertson and her fiancé hope to get married this summer in Scotland.
