Math teacher Matthew Chaffee is the Talon’s pick for player of the day on Tuesday, May 20, the first day of the second round. Chaffee plays for Past our Prime along with seniors Sam Lisbonne, Jordan Stout, Kimberlyn Tilley, Ryan Seltzer and Surya Ram. Several team members had Chaffee as a teacher and decided to recruit him.

“Mr. Chaffee had a dominant performance,” Sam said. “He threw some rockets and caught some tough throws. He’s got a lot of experience.”

Chaffee led his team to a 3-0 victory. The first game, however, was quite close. His team’s numbers soon dwindled and Chaffee found himself one of two players remaining on his side. With a nice catch followed by a powerful throw Chaffee had his team back in control.

“In the first game he led the team,” Jordan said.

Chaffee and Past Our Prime will play again on Thursday, May 22.
