Cross Country and Track Coach Moves on to Stanford

Cross country and track Head Coach PattiSue Plumer will not be coming back to LAHS this fall school year. Instead, she will be returning to Stanford, which she graduated from in 1985, as an associate coach in cross country and an assistant coach in track and field.

“I’ve loved [my experience at LAHS],” Plumer said. “I thought it was great and am really pleased and proud of how the program is growing.”

Plumer has coached at LAHS since 2005 and has “really enjoyed working with the athletes.”

“I’m saddened that [Plumer] is leaving,” an anonymous senior said. “She’s built up a cohesive team with a lot of history over the years, and I’m worried her leaving might break the team up a bit. But at the same time, I’m also excited for her coaching at Stanford.”

Plumer hopes to remain open to any of her athletes seeking support or advice and encourages them to “believe in the possibility of something exciting and unexpected.”
