Countdown to Christmas Day Seventeen: Holiday Movies

No matter all of the Christmas traditions that I love, my all time favorite is getting curled up on the couch and watching Christmas movies. There are so many different holiday movies that have been made for years; even now, new holiday movies are being made constantly. Despite this, I have to say that the classics like the original “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” and “A Year Without Santa Claus” trump the new movies that have been made.

There is something about the classics that make them so much fun to watch. Whether it is the scratchy sound that makes them feel old and traditional or just the story plots themselves. Either way, they easily beat out the new holiday movies. The newer versions of old holiday stories and even the ones with new plots just don’t beat out the old ones. Also, sometimes the acting is so poor in the newer movies that they are ruined completely.

Nonetheless, there are some real winners that are “new” Christmas movies. These include movies like “Elf” and “Home Alone.”

The Countdown to Christmas on Abc Family shows both classics and newer movies that truly captures every take on the holidays possible. If you don’t own your own holiday movies and are half as excited about them as I am, definitely check out this network as it will play the movies until Christmas.
