Boys Water Polo Suffers Narrow Loss

The boys water polo team suffered a narrow 8-11 loss to Saint Francis High School on Friday, October 4. The team’s playing was not as strong as it could have been, and small mistakes allowed the Lancers to score.

“We could have won the game if we had executed our offense and defense a little better,” junior Bryan Kim said. “They had strong players but we could have beaten them if we played a more solid defense and could execute on offense.”

An imperfect defense has been a recurring stumbling block for the team this season. Despite the loss, the team is resolved on working to improve for their future games.

“We need to eliminate the little mistakes on defense and we also need to start helping each other more,” Bryan said.

The team had an away game against Menlo Atherton High School on Saturday, October 5, which they lost 5-15. The Eagles will face off against Palo Alto next on Tuesday, October 8, at Palo Alto High School.
