Boys Water Polo Blows Out Wildcats
Los Altos has beaten Los Gatos twice already this year, but never like this. On Wednesday, November 5, the Los Altos Boys Water Polo team blew out the Wildcats. The Eagles came out with energy, dominating the first quarter with five goals to Los Gatos’ one. This momentum did not let up until the Eagles removed their starters in the fourth quarter when the score was 16-4.
“Overall our team came out with alot more fire than we usually do, and it really showed in the frequency of our counterattacks,” senior Ryan Seltzer said. “Our ball control and shooting were both much better than they have been and our offense finally was executed as it should be.”
It was a strong all-around team effort as the Eagles glided smoothly to a victory. As the season is winding down, Los Altos hopes to keep this fire lit and end its season on a high note.
“You could tell by the energy of the players in the pool and on the benches on both teams that we simply wanted the game more than they did,” Ryan said.
The Eagles play their next game tomorrow, November 8, against Gunn.
