Boys Water Polo Beaten by Gunn

Boys Water Polo played Gunn at home Tuesday, October 15. The Eagles gave up grip on their lead during the fourth quarter and lost 5-7.

For the first half, the Eagles maintained a constant single point advantage over Gunn. By the third quarter, the score equalized at four points as the Eagles ceded momentum.

“This was a very low scoring game for both sides,” senior and left-handed driver Surya Ram said.

Although the Eagles had six opportunities to take advantage of power plays, they did not convert any goals off them. Despite this, senior Sam Lisbonne had a solid outing and scored four of the Eagles’ five goals.

During the final quarter, Gunn managed to inch-out a single point advantage over the Eagles due to the Eagles’ lack of execution on offense. Gunn only pushed the lead to two after converting a risky end of the game play.

The team seeks to recover quickly for the upcoming game against Lynbrook at home on Thursday, October 19.
