Boys, girls soccer both fall in rivalry games
Both the varsity boys and varsity girls soccer teams played against rival Mountain View High School today, Tuesday, January 12.
The boys soccer game lasted from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. at LAHS. The Eagles lost to the MVHS Spartans 2-0.
Co-captain of the boys soccer team senior Eric Safai said he felt that the team did well as a whole.
“I think we played pretty well,” Eric said. “The goals were probably a result of miscommunication on the field.”
According to Eric, the team’s strategy was to “play [their] style” and “not lose focus.”
The varsity girls soccer game took place at MVHS and also started at 3:30 p.m. The girls lost to the Spartans 2-1.
The Spartans scored two goals in the first half, and senior Adi Yogev scored one goal for the Eagles in the second half.
Although the Spartans won, Adi felt that the team did well.
“[The game] was good,” Adi said. “It was better than I expected.”
