On Saturday, September 22, varsity football won against Lynbrook in their first league game of the season despite having four injured players. Los Altos and Lynbrook entered the game with non-league records of 2-2 and 0-4, respectively. With a strong offensive performance led by seniors Ben Parker and Dale Simms, Los Altos defeated Lynbrook with a final score of 50-0.

Within the first five minutes, Ben secured a touchdown and put Los Altos in the lead, setting the tone for the rest of the game. The team’s offense continued to play well, with Dale making a touchdown with a 84 yard run. At the end of the first quarter, a touchdown by Senior Juan Marin Melo and a two-point conversion by Dale launched the Eagles firmly in the lead with a score of 26-0.

Despite their sizeable lead, the Eagles did not let up their defense and and continued to put pressure on Lynbrook’s offense and allowed very little room for them to execute any plays. Los Altos controlled the entire game, preventing Lynbrook from scoring a single point and taking the win with a 50-0 score.

“I thought we played really well [today],” Assistant Coach Arlando Brown said. “I think it’s the most confident game we’ve played all year.”

The Eagles hope to win again in an away game against Santa Clara High School on Friday, September 28 at 7 p.m.
