Boys Basketball Plays in Burlingame Lions Club Tournament, Finishes with 1-2 Record

The boys basketball team concluded the Burlingame Lions Club Tournament yesterday, November 9, with a 1-2 record. The team first lost 46-49 to host team Burlingame High School in a tense match. The team then proceeded to beat San Mateo by a comfortable margin, 59-48. On the final day, the team lost to Sacred Heart Preparatory 59-58 in an extremely close game. Nonetheless, the team felt good about the performances they had in the tournament.

“Though we easily could have won all three games, I’m happy with our effort,” Co-captain senior Kieran Stolorz said. “We’re still learning how to play a full 32 minutes of team basketball, but it’s clear that we’ve improved a lot from last week.”

The Eagles also recognize that their potential far exceeds their record, and that the change must come in recognizing and improving upon their errors.

“We need to realize what we did wrong, and fix it, but the potential is definitely there,” Stolorz said. “After some more experience on the court together we can be a really competitive team.”
