After beating Wilcox High School earlier in their season, the varsity boys basketball team was ready to secure yet another victory on Friday, February 8. LAHS basketball fans and the trusty Blue Crew were well-represented in the crowd as the Eagles beat Wilcox 57-49.
The game started out close, with the Eagles leading 31-27 at the half.
“We came out a little slow and allowed them to stay in the game, but when we came out in the second half, we showed them why we are number one in league by shutting them down on defense, which translated to positive offensive possessions,” sophomore Daniel Rosenbaum said.
The Eagles’ defense swarmed Wilcox’s offensive players, preventing Wilcox from making a shot in the third quarter and putting Los Altos farther in the lead.
Star players in this game included junior Steven Garverick, who led the team by scoring 18 points throughout the game.
