Beck and Holt Place Fourth in CCS Tennis Tournament

Although seniors Braden Holt and Christian Beck entered CCS as alternates, they outperformed the third seed in the quarterfinals and placed fourth within the tournament.

The pair came off of the bench and beat the third seed doubles, the Fratt brothers from Menlo Atherton. Braden and Christian then turned their sights to Mitty in the CCS semifinals, going up against the Maltby-Dang doubles team. Braden and Christian went toe to toe, winning the first set 6-4, but lost the next two sets 4-6.

“It was a fabulous ending to a fabulous season,” Christian said. “Coming into the CCS tournament as alternates was not the most confidence inspiring moment I’ve ever had but we put on a great showing and I’m proud of how we did.”

The tennis team had a strong season this year, and has many young and capable varsity players who will ensure a powerful program in years to come. Christian will be going on to play tennis at St. Olaf College and Braden plans on playing for Foothill Colege.

“Playing for the team over the last four years has been an experience that has shaped me both on and off the court, and I know I speak for Braden and myself when I say that we both look forward to continuing to play at our respective colleges,” Christian said.
