Baseball Falls to Palo Alto High School 1-10

The Los Altos baseball team fell to Palo Alto High School 1-10 today, March 27.

“We always expect to win, but sometimes it doesn’t happen,” junior Steven Lee said.

The Eagles were behind by only a few runs for the first seven innings, before Palo Alto hit a three-run home run that set off a scoring spree. After that inning, Los Altos was unable to respond, and the game ended 1-10 in favor of Palo Alto.

Freshman Trevor Rodgers was the starting pitcher for Los Altos and pitched five innings. The Palo Alto pitcher was able to pitch the entire game.

The Eagles play Palo Alto again on Friday, March 29, in an away game.

“We really have to attack the ball at the plate,” senior captain Steven McLean said. “Our pitchers have to throw strikes and the defense will follow up behind [the pitcher]. There’s also just coming into the game with the right attitude.”
