Asian Box serves up style, great food

Located on Castro Street in downtown Mountain View, Asian Box provides Asian-fusion food with a bright and friendly atmosphere. There are multiple Asian Box restaurants in the Bay Area, with the second closest to school being located in the Town & Country Village in Palo Alto. Overall, Asian Box is a quick and solid addition to the surrounding food scene.

Asian Box operates much like Chipotle. You choose your rice, meat, toppers and sauce. The food is prepared right in front of you and everything tastes extraordinarily fresh. There is a lot of variety, with five different choices of meat, steamed or wok stirred vegetables, upwards of 13 additional toppers and a variety of sauces to finish off the box. The five different kinds of meats are chicken, beef, pork, shrimp, and tofu. Each meat is seasoned differently and they all bring exciting flavors. The additional toppers include jalapeno, bean sprouts, chopped peanuts and fresh herbs, among others. Along with these meat choices, there are also specials such as short ribs instead of the usual meat choices. In addition to the conventional boxes, there are also various sides to choose from, such as tofu spring rolls and noodle salad.

The service is very friendly and precise. As soon as you open the door, the staff greets you by harmoniously shouting, “Welcome to the Box!” The ordering process is very simple and the employees are very accommodating and informative. They refuse to take tips and say that good service is an absolute must.
Most people eating Asian Box take it to go, but the restaurant does have tables for indoor and outdoor seating. The service always checks in on the customer and tries to make the experience as enjoyable as possible.

The food is somewhat pricey, and at the portions are a little small. Apart from this, Asian Box is a great place to go if you need quality food in a pinch.
