ASB Organizes Fire Relief Drive

Los Altos, Mountain View and Alta Vista High Schools are working together to collect supplies for people affected in the recent wildfires in Mendocino, Napa and Sonoma counties.

The drive follows the cancellation of the Homecoming Parade and postponement of the football game due to air pollution from the fires. ASB aimed to find a way to turn a disappointing situation into a positive one for the student body and help the people displaced by the fires, ASB adviser and Assistant Principal Suzanne Woolfolk said.

ASB is asking for donations of “new or unopened toiletries (toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, deodorant, feminine products), infant diapers in all sizes, and toddler pull-ups for donation,” Woolfolk said in an email. Drop off sites are located near parking lots and the office. The drive will run from Thursday, October 19 to Saturday, October 28.
