Alcohol Incident Leaves Great America Trip in Jeopardy

On Friday, May 15, a senior student was caught with alcohol during the physics department’s annual field trip to Great America. The administration is now considering canceling future Great America trips.

Principal Wynne Satterwhite and Assistant Principal Ralph Cave were seen at Great America after the student was caught.

Physics teacher Karen Davis, who acted as a chaperone on the Great America trip, declined to comment on the alcohol incident. However, she did confirm that the administration is considering canceling any future Great America trips.

“We’re concerned about [student] safety,” Davis said. “Great America is still open to the public so it allows kids to go in and out.”

Principal Satterwhite was unavailable for comment.
