The Peninusula Chapter of the World Affairs Council hosted an event in conjuction with the Los Altos Public Library Wednesday, April 14.
The event was held in the main room of the Los Altos Youth Center at 7:30 p.m. and featured world-renowned international journalists speaking about their work in the Stanford Knight Program.
The journalists discussed the ways in which they were planning to utilize and improve news reporting with new media technologies in their prospective countries.
The event included speeches by South African Journalist Justin Arenstein, American freelance photographer Teru Kuwayama, Singaporian journalist Lydia Lim and Romanian reporter Paul Radu.
The guest speakers spoke about their prospective countries and some of the issues being faced within. In the Stanford Knight Fellows program they hope to solve some of the problems facing their journalistic fields.
The next World Affairs Council event will be held on Stanford campus on Tuesday, April 20 at 4 p.m. and will include a pre-release screening of the movie “Countdown to Zero.” Visit nuclearrisk.org for more World Affairs Council local events.
