The varsity boys tennis team lost 6-1 in a home match against Gunn on Tuesday, April 14. The team is still searching for its first win in league play. This loss brings their record to 0-10 on the season.
This loss came by a particularly large margin, as the only win came from sophomore Adam Rosenbaum in the number four singles match. Every other match was won in two sets by Gunn, as Gunn’s players dominated most of the matchups.
“This was to be expected,” sophomore Max Sullivan said. “Gunn had a few more talented players. In fact, their best player is in the top 20 in the nation for his age group.”
Los Altos also had to deal with lineup changes and some missing players for this match. The usual number one singles player, Sungmin Park, was sick and did not play, forcing players to play in unfamiliar positions.
This loss is another setback in what has been a hard season for the tennis team. They are looking to earn their first league win in the next match on Thursday, April 16 against Palo Alto High School.
