Around 20 seniors taking civics and economics classes volunteered to work at the election polls today, November 6.
After having taken a brief training course last week, the seniors went to various election polling stations in the Bay Area to help out.
The Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters, the governmental body responsible for coordinating student and youth volunteers, needed more volunteers to staff local polling booths. The twenty students completed a training course in order to volunteer.
“I think it’s a unique opportunity,” history teacher and local volunteer coordinator April Fritz said. “I’m really glad they have the chance to help out and see voting in action.”
