Hey Eagles! The Scouting Report is back, and as the season ends for our six winter sports teams, the season for the 11 spring sports teams begins. Let’s take a look at what’s ahead for five of our spring sports, highlighting their previous records, accomplishments so far, and important dates to mark on your calendar.
The varsity boys and girls lacrosse teams are both off to a strong start, with the record for the boys team standing at 1–0 and the girls team standing at 2–0.
The boys are already outperforming last season’s record of 0–15 overall. If you’re looking to keep up with the boys lacrosse team this season, mark down their away match against Woodside Wildcats on Thursday, April 3, and their home match on Thursday, May 1, hosting the Wildcats into Eagle territory. And get excited for their rivalry game against the Mountain View Spartans on Thursday, May 8.
As for the girls, the Eagles had a successful 9–7 ranking overall last year, taking 3rd in the SCVAL league. Look out for their rivalry games against the Spartans at home on Friday, March 28, and away on Friday, April 25.
Following up, the boys volleyball team is currently 2–1 overall in the SCVAL – El Camino League. Last season, Los Altos placed third in the league, going 19–13 overall. Check out their away game against the Spartans on Saturday, March 12, and their home game on Monday, March 28.
Lastly, our varsity baseball and softball teams have both started their seasons hot, with baseball ranking 3–0 overall. Look out for seniors Kai MacQuiddy, a DIII Amherst University commit, and Emmett Heath, a DIII Pitzer commit. You can watch baseball’s rivalry games against the Spartans either away on Wednesday, April 30, or at home on Friday, May 2.
Softball started the season strong, going 5–2 overall compared to last year’s record of 11–15 overall. You can watch their rivalry games against the Spartans at home on Tuesday, April 1, or away on Tuesday, May 6.
Also, make sure you’re supporting our six other spring sports teams: badminton, boys golf, gymnastics, swimming, diving, boys tennis, and track and field.
Signing off,
